Our History begins in 1847 when the first church building our congregation built in Chapel Hill opened…but we are still making history today.

The first church building that our congregation built in Chapel Hill was in 1847, probably where the Lawrence Funeral Home is now located.

• In 1881, land at our current location was given to our church and a new church building was built.

• In 1921, a tornado destroyed that building and in 1922 our current church building was built, consisting of only the Sanctuary and lower level beneath it. Throughout the years, additions were added to the building.

• Today we continue to innovate, reach our community, and serve God in all we do. You are invited to join us as we make the next century of history!
